Merz cellist Julia Yang has performed as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral leader  around the world in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the New World Center and the Sydney Opera House.   An alum of Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect (2016-18) and the New World Symphony (2014-16), Julia was praised for her ‘sense of joyful virtuosity’ in performances of Haydn's Cello Concerto with the New World Symphony (South Florida Classical Review). A prizewinner of numerous competitions, she has made festival appearances around the world such as Poland's Krzyzowa-Music, Banff, and Yellow Barn, Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival with an upcoming invitation to the Marlboro Music Festival.  Julia has been praised for her “deep tone” and “precision" in performances of piano trios and holds degrees in performance from New England Conservatory and Northwestern University (South Florida Classical Review). www.juliayangcello.com
